The University City of Gloucester is found in the South West of England, dating back to Roman times. There is still evidence of this to be found at various sites in Gloucester. Benefitting from a beautiful Norman Cathedral and historic docks, Gloucester has been used as a location for films such as Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean and Dr Who. There are various styles of Architecture to be found in the City.
The popular docks and quays area is a mecca for tourism and shoppers alike and often hosts Victorian markets, food and drink festivals and the annual Tall Ships Festival. From here visitors can also take a boat trip on the River Severn.
Gloucester is also home to the famous Cherry and Whites Premiership Rugby team, and many a visiting player and supporter have been taken aback by the passion of the supporters in the Shed. Gloucester is one of the host Cities for the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
Gloucester provides easy access to the Cotswolds, the Forest of Dean and the famous Cheese Rolling, and has excellent motorway links to the M5 and A417 to the M4. There is also a busy Railway Station in the City centre.
Gloucester was home to the Gloucester Aircraft Company that built aircraft for both World Wars, this has now become a very busy Business Park. The City is also home to the Lloyds Banking Group and Messier-Dowty
